Access to the North Coast

Alamein Airport is seasonal and its flights intensify in summer, and the closest to the heart of the region. If you can't find a direct flight there, you reach via Borg El Arab or via Cairo and then by road.
The road from Cairo goes along the desert road then the coastal road or the Dot Road, and the distance to Alamein is about 280 kilometers. Allow extra time on late summer weekends as the road can get crowded.
Getting around on the North Coast
The region relies on a single coastal road, and a car is almost essential to move between villages since public transport is limited.
